My family and I live in Heritage Hills subdivision and our home is across a fence and a wooded area from Sutton Place Apartments.
We bought our home in 2003 and Heritage Hills is a very nice upscale subdivision. Since we have lived here, there has been an ongoing problem with noise in the form of large, thunderous bass coming from vehicles at Sutton Place Apartments which is owned by AIMCO. This is the most earth shaking bass you can imagine which we can easily hear inside of our house with all of the doors and windows closed.
During the past year, we have written numerous letters to the local manager, Ms. Jenny Garcia, the Regional Manager, Mr. Thomas Cowdrey and to the President of AIMCO, Mr. Terry Considine and they have done NOTHING about the noise or the person responsible for causing the noise.
I have even sent them copies of Police reports indicating Gun Shots were fired and Spent Bullets were found on the property at Sutton Place Apartments. They seem totaly unconcerened and have ignored my letters.
We have also written numerous letters to the Ocala City Manager, Mr. Paul Nugent and to the Mayor, Mr. Randy Ewers. Ocala City Manager, Mr. Paul Nugent has not even has the decency to acknowledge our letters or take any action about the daily noise my family & I have to put up with from AIMCO / Sutton Place Apartments.
There are noise laws in Florida and the persons responsible are breaking the law with impunity. It seems that AIMCO / Sutton Place Apartments should have a legal obligation to MAKE AIMCO / Sutton Place control their tenants and make them be quiet.

AIMCO / Sutton Place Apartments has been a problem for years and the complex is so bad that the City of Ocala had a Police Station INSIDE the complex until October of 2007. This was totally due to AIMCO's lack of management.
Unlike other apartment complexes who has a resident manager on their property 24/7, AIMCO / Sutton Place Apartments property manager leaves during the week at 4:30 PM and is gone all weekend. The tenants wreck havoc and do whatever they want while the manager is gone and there is no one on the property to wittiness who is causing the noise or enforce any rules or make who ever is causing the noise... stop.
Since the City of Ocala is aware of this, it seems that they should take legal action against AIMCO / Sutton Place and MAKE them control their tenants or SHUT Sutton Place Apartments down.
AIMCO and it's management is the most careless and irresponsible I have ever encountered.
I have no intentions of putting up with AIMCO - Sutton Place Apartments noisy tenants the rest of my life and am looking for a good attorney to sue them for everything they’ve got. I have tons of documented evidence and plenty of witnesses.
My family & I (which includes our 5 year old son), have a legal right to live here in peace and quiet. It seems that AIMCO / Sutton Place Apartments has a legal obligation to make AIMCO / Sutton Place control their tenants and make them be quiet.
Since AIMCO never does anything about fixing the problems I've complained about or has acknowledge my letters, it seems that a lawsuit is the only thing which will get their attention.
