My VW 1997 Jetta VR6 was having troubles passing smog due to some error codes running inside the Computer. At the same time the Check Engine light was on. I took the car to Autoworks (Mountain View, CA.) for diagnotics and they gave me a list of repairs that totalled $1,250 and on top of that they charged me $250 for the examination. Once I had received their estimate, I paid the $250 and took my car to another shop for they examination. This shop mechanic told me that all I need was to replace an electrical switch and the total cost was $8.00.
I am still very upset with Autoworks because I had to pay them the $250 for nothing. I also wonder how many people had been cheated by them in the past........... |
