| Like others whom have written about Chases Visa's poor ethics, I too have had my share of problems with Chase Visa. I have had my card for over 10 years, and never had a late payment. Due to the holidays this year, I lost track of time and had to pay my bill on the due date, which is today. Come to find out chase screws its customers TWICE under such circumstances. First, although your bill may be due on 27DEC09, it is ACTUALLY due on 27DEC09 on or before 4PM EST. Anything after (even though you are paying on the actual date) is considered late for which you will be charged a fee. Second, if you try to pay your bill online using your checking account number, Chase will charge you $15 dollars as a "convenience fee". So because I am paying my bill on the due date but after 4pm, and because I'm paying electronically, I am receiving a late fee and a convenience fee.
Furthermore, customer service representative, Maria, was not at all interested in keeping my business. I called to ask that the fees be waived because they were deceptive, misleading, and morally wrong, but Maria wasn't having it. Instead she choose me cancelling my account of over 10 years, than waive some unethical fees. Needless to say, I am no longer a customer of Chase Visa.
STAY AWAY FROM CHASE VISA!!!. They will screw you over with fees, and truly don't care to keep your business...ask Maria from their customer hotline. |
