claim denied after 12 years of loss free experience

Had to move to Texas for a few months for work. Was going through a separation at the same time. My husband left the home trashed. He didnt clean up at all. I stayed in Tx. so the chuldren didn't have to switch schools. Upon my return home on May 14th 2009 knowing from family and my neighbors that I had some cleaning up to do before the return of the children to get the home ready for them. I came home to a flood from a faulty pipe. The adjuster put in a claim for 100,000. They took the faulty pipe and denied the claim stating their engineers said it was consistent with a frozen pipe. They have made my family homeless due to the denial of the claim because my home is deemed uninhabitable. We proved the pipes were drained cause the electric was turned off for non payment(thats how some men are when you go through a seperation). Now our friends joke that when the electric was off they couln't even get a drink of water. My neighbor was at my home when the electric was turned back on at the electric co. request. My neighbors returned that same evening to turn on outside lights for me due to some recent theft they had reported to me and there was no flood at that time still. I believe their denial was based on preception because of the photographs the adjuster took. Which were bad but not a reason to deny my claim. As stated above we have had the same insurance co. for 6 years at my previous home and almost 7 years at our present home with almost a total of 13 years of loss free experience. It leaves me with the question WHY do I pay home owners insurance at all.
