I purchased Fairfax Towing Services on 09/03/07. My car battery was dead and I needed a jump start for my car. I called them on 09/03/07 for their service. I waited over an hour for their driver to arrive (since he had come to my home to leave because since he was calling the wrong cell phone number he could not reach me). I called after waiting for an hour to find out he was dialing the wrong area code (703 instead of 706). He was dispatched again when I called the owner Chris to let him know that I was still waiting. Finally the driver came and he provided the service I needed and I paid him with my debit card/credit card. He wrote down all the information by hand. On 09/19/07, while at work I received a message on my cell phone from the owner Chris asking me to call him back because my debit card would not go through. He told me the driver had terrible/sloppy writing and they could not make out some of the numbers. I got the message and within the hour I called him back. He gave me what debit card number and expiration date they had. I told him I had that particular debit card at home and I would have to give him a call to confirm the correct number. Because of work and personal committments I was not able to get back to him the same night or following day as I had told him. Therefore, I called their office number (703) 272-1104 on 09/24/07 (three working days after I had spoken to him). I called at 8AM on Monday (9/24/07), a man answered and I explained to him who I was and that I needed to give Chris my correct debit card information. He told me that he was still at home, on his way to the office, and asked me to call back. At 8:24AM, I received a cell phone message from Chris, telling me that since I never called back after we spoke on 09/19, that he was going to send my bill to collections. I called back at about 11AM, as soon as I received the message, and Chris's wife answered. I asked her if I could speak to Chris. She said he was not there. I asked if I could leave a message for him so he could call me back. She said no that I needed to address the issue with her. I told her that I would rather speak to Chris since I had dealt with him up to now. She got so angry and started yelling at me that she had the paperwork in her hands and she was going to send it off to collections. I told her that I was calling to give the information to Chris that the mistake had been on the part of their employee who did not write down the correct credit card information and I did not understand why she was yelling at me and being unprofessional about the matter when I was calling Chris to talk to him about the correct billing information. She would not allow me to get a word in and was yelling and finally all she said was that I did not have to pay, that she was just going to send it to collections and she hanged up on me. I called her back, to explain to her she had no reason to treat me like this, as I was a paying customer and the mistake had been her employees. I told her that he had written down the wrong expiration date (since she was yelling at me that I had purposely given the wrong credit card number). I told her the correct expiration date and that it should work if she puts in 06/10 instead of 09/10 (as the employee had written). I then called Chris on his personal cell phone number to tell him how dissatisfied I was with the treatment I received by his wife (her yelling and her hanging up on me) when all I was trying to do was reach him to give him the correct information. He apologized and he told me that they deal with a lot of people who do not pay, but he was so sorry for his wife's behavior. I told him the correct expiration date and told him that I did not want to have any more problems with them, or have any more communication with them because they they were harrassing me and treating me unfairly when the billing mistake was due to their inefficient employee. |
