Flippa.com - Flippa Sucks for several reason....
They allow comments of any kind to be posted on your auction.. Just today, Flippa Member "iklanoke.com" posted this ridiculous comment;
"heehe u sell drop domains? i saw your back links, look its before u change to directory"
I paid $24 for a 5 day action listing and Flippa allows these type of riducious comments to be posted which could turn people off from buying my website. Comments like this could cost me thousands of dollars yet, Flippa's management allows NEGATIVE comments to be posted when your trying to make a sale. Sure you can delete the comments, but that requires you to log in and manually delete them.
What if I'm out of town for a day and during that time hundreds of people sees negative comments which prevents them from buying? I thought the purpose of the site was to help people sell their websites and domains. Allowing stupid comments from IDIIOTS is BAD MANAGEMENT. Also, everytime you delete a comment, it shows up in YOUR profile that you deleted comments making it look like you may have something to hide.
A month ago, I put another website for sale on Flippa. A Flippa member by the name of Sybil Worthington won the auction, then backed out the next day claiming his dog was attacked by a bear. I filed a complaint about that member and Flippa did NOTHING. Seems to be the proper response would have been to BAN that member from ever bidding again. THEN, that member gave ME "Get Even" feedback in response to my leaving feedback about him backing out of the auction, and Flippa did NOTHING about it.
One more BIG issue. If your auction is successful and you sell your website or domain, Flippa.com charges you a "Success Fee" of 5%. My site sold for $9,200 so the success fee was $460. What a racket! $460 for what? All they did was allow me to sell my site on their website. They already charged me $19 listing fee, plus $5 for a bolded listing. They have thousands of listing so they are already getting RICH and making thousands of dollars a day from the listings alone. But that ain't enough... they want MORE!
So my opinion is that Flippa.com SUCKS. I think I'll be starting my own website acution site to compete with Flippa and I won't charge success fees and I won't allow STUPID comments on my site. |
