On June 11/08 I went to pick up my silk suit that I had only worn once, from Metro dry cleaners. On the jacket I noticed that the buttons were undone and the collar was pressed straight up, this was odd to me, so I inspected the pants. The pants still had stains on them and additional black streaks that were not there before.  The stains that the cleaner had attempted to take out had worn and faded the material.

I was really upset and told the cleaner that he ruined my pants, that the outfit was only worn once and started to cry. I also told him that I was going to report him for ruining my pants, he literally laughed at me and said "You pay, then we go to court".

I was so upset by his reaction and comment, that I grabbed the outfit and left the shop. Immediately the cleaner ran to my car and took down the license plate number and said that he was "going to the police". I told him to do that, that he is the one who should be charged for ruining my pants.

I was contacted by the police and told that if I did not pay for my dry cleaning that I would be charged and have a criminal record. I explained to the officer that the cleaner should be paying me for the pants that he ruined, not me paying him. The police officer was very nice to me and did say that the cleaner had the system down pat and that I could go to court and tell my friends, but I had to pay him.

The reality is I would spend more time and money taking Metro cleaners to court in order to get justice and it is so obvious that this cleaner knows this.

I did pay for the dry cleaning, but I need to warn other people in order to save them the same grief.

* June 11th picked up, paid June 12th
