Micronutra, Nutrasource, Techmedica is under Indictment for Fraudulently Marketing Dietary Supplements. Brand names include Diamaxol, Activive, Candidol, Cholestasys, HairMax, Lupazol, Menopol and Provigro.
Since March 1, 2008 if you tried to access Micronutra's website, MicroNutra.com, you may have noticed that the website is not working. I was a affiliate who paid $149.95 for their turnkey website which also has not been working since March 1, 2008. I called several times and was told by a customer service rep that the site was down and that is was being upgraded. That, as I found out yesterday on March 11, 2008 was a LIE. By doing some searches on the internet, I fould that Micronutra is under Indictment for Fraudulently Marketing Dietary Supplements.
Persons named in the Indictment are; Charles C. Thao, 40, and his wife, Mai Lor, 23, both of Springfield, along with two businesses that they own and operate in Springfield, Nutrapha Research, LLC, and Bio Nutrasource, LLC, and Shua G. Vang, 40, also of Springfield, and Tony T. Pham, 40, and his business, Techmedica Health, Inc., and Tong B. Vang, 42, all of Grand Rapids, Mich., were charged in a 40-count indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Springfield on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008.
The indictment alleges that "Techmedica, through Tony Pham and Tong Vang, in an effort to defraud the United States by impeding, obstructing, and defeating the lawful functions of the FDA, operated several Web sites using mirror image technology. The use of this technology assured that when each of these Web sites was accessed from an FDA network computer, they displayed a "sanitized" version of the Web site containing medical claims that attempted to comply with the federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FDCA). However, the indictment says, when each of these Web sites was accessed from a computer whose IP address could not be traced to the FDA, they displayed claims that the dietary supplements could cure, mitigate, treat, and prevent diseases, so that these supplements were sold as unapproved new drugs and misbranded drugs".
Ex Employee Claims "TechMedica (Now changed its name to MicroNutra) is a big scam, and rip off. They rebottle the same pills in different bottles and call in something new. TechMedica (Now changed its name to MicroNutra) is a big scam, and rip off. I was a temp worker there when the FDA came and raided them. They told TechMedica (Now changed its name to MicroNutra) not to send out their product and they called us in over the weekend and sent out the stuff anyways. If the fda knew they would be closed down for all the fraud and lies they tell their customers. They rebottle the same pills in different bottles and call in something new.
They keep growing with new names, but the product is fake and false advertising and they have stolen patents from other companies and their so called fake drs that they have are big time lyers and scam artists."
I wrote Tony T. Pham and demanded that he refund my $149.95 for their turnkey website and demanded commissions owed and there has been no response.
If you have been ripped off by Micronutra, please contact me by clicking my aurthor link. I will be contacting attornies about filing a class action lawsuit to recover commissions for affiliates and seek refunds for all who purchased thier turnkey website. Here's some additional steps you can take;
1. Write an article about losses you have incurred from Micronutra and post it on this website to help make others aware of Micronutra.
2. Report your losses to your State Attorney General's Office
3. File a complaint to the Better Business Bureau.
4. File a complaint to the Internet Crime Center - IC3.GOV
5. File a complaints to the Federal Trade Commission
Since April 1, 2008 Micronutra has somehow been able to start selling their products again and are making money while failing to pay thier affiliates who they own money to. I think all of us affiliates should call customer service every day and complain at 800-875-0850 & 866-504-7557 and ask "when are they going to refund our money and when are they going to pay our commission?" Also tell them that they are being reported to the above agencies.
