I initially decided to go with Sprint as my cellular carrier. I went into MidFlorida cellular and ordered my plan and received my hybrid phone the same day. I was told that the hybrid phone was a great piece of equipment and that it would last a long time. After 2 hours of sitting in the office at MidFlorida Cellular at 2235 S Woodland Blvd in Deland, I received my new cellular phone and plan and was all set to leave. I went home and gave my fiance my new phone number. He asked me why I had a long distance telephone number. I didn't realize it, but the customer service associate had given me a Daytona Beach telephone number. I don't even know anyone in Daytona Beach and it costs a quarter everytime you dial DB from my home town. So, I got back in my truck and drove back to the store. The man I spoke with told me that there was nothing he could do about it because he'd have to change my entire plan that he just put in and the information wasn't solid in the system yet, so he couldn't change it. I had that number for 3 days before I noticed another Sprint store in Deleon Springs. I went in to that store and the lady took care of me immediately. She fixed everything. That was strike one for MidFlorida Cellular. A year later, after my hybrid took a crap, I had upgraded my phone to the Treo 755p (this ended up costing me over $600), my Palm device decided to go haywire on me. I have the perfect nagging wife phone, I can hear everyone, but noone can hear me. So, I....like an idiot, go back into MidFlorida Cellular and place a claim on my phone. I'm told that the phone should be in their office within 7 days. They'll call me. I told them to leave me a voice mail. I don't have a landline because my cell bill is outrageous, I conduct all of my business on my cellular. 7 days, no call. 8 days, no call. 9 days, still no phone call. On the tenth day, I drop by after work. The phone still isn't there. I wait two more days and call. The phone still isn't there, and the girl tells me she'll call me when it comes in, and she's very sorry. She also tells me that when the phone gets there, she'll give me store credit to rectify the issue. I wait another 4 days, totalling 16 days, over two weeks. I call again and am told, "Ma'am I'm with a customer and I can't get up to see if your phone is here right now, can you call back?" I reply with, "Isn't there anyone else there? It's been over 2 weeks since I had my cell phone and I really need to know if the new one is there." "No, you'll need to either come in, we close at 6, or call back in a couple hours." I was peeved, this guy wouldn't even GET UP out of his chair to go look and see if my phone was even there. I went in that day after work. The old guy was still there all alone and there was no one else there. He was with a customer, so he told me to wait on "Steve" in the back and that he should be there soon. I wait, and wait, and wait. 20 minutes later, here comes Steve. The whole time I was waiting, the older gentleman was assisting a new customer and I really wanted to tell her to run out of there, but I held my tongue. Steve comes in and sits down without acknowledging me. At this point there are 6 people waiting, I was first. He asks, "CAN I HELP SOMEONE?" and I stand, ready to give him a piece of my mind. I walk up to his desk and reiterate the story about how I've ordered my phone, was told I'd be contacted, never was contacted and now where is my phone? He gets up, again without acknowledging me and starts to look through the fed ex and ups boxes. "It's still not here," he says. I reply with, "Steve, that's not a good enough answer." He sits back down and proceeds to write an email to sprint about the location of the phone. He tells me that he recently had to fire someone and that person had stolen a whole box of phones and my pda was in the box. I tell him that isn't my problem and that I need my phone to conduct business. It's been over 2 weeks. He tells me he will contact me when my phone gets there, it should take 3 more days. Today marks over a month, still no phone. I went back in there two days ago and again confronted Steve. He asked me if I tried to get the phone anywhere else. NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I BEEN ASKED THAT BY A BUSINESS! It's like going to Target and being told that Walmart could do a better job by the Target associate! I told him that his customer service ability sucked and that I would most definately carry on my business elsewear. I also thanked him for wasting so much of my time and offering me empty promises of being contacted. I called Sprint and made a formal complaint against the business. Sprint gave me a $180 credit on my bill and ordered the phone for me with no deductible, it should be here within 7 days....it better be. Avoid this business at all costs, unless you prefer to deal with rude, incompetent customer service associates like Steve who can't even manage to call someone back, let alone manage a store full of idiots like him. |
