To make a long story short...I had a small loan with Old Second Bank and was late here and there because of payroll issues. Mostly I was late by a week or two, once by 30 days, but they have my checking account and were instructed to take the money out, with late fee, when I was notified. This was the problem, they notified me if I was only a week late, but not in a nice way. A condescending jerk would call and harass me even if we were only late by a week. I called and complained about him at least six times, he continued to call and was just as rude and obnoxious. They then reported me three times to the credit agency and ruined our credit by 200 points, stating that we were over 30 days three times. This was impossible as I received only one notice of 30 days in which I called and asked for an extension, which was granted and I was told I wouldn't be reported. When I called to complain again I was told I should pay my bills, I was told I was lying and that the "jerk" was never rude or unprofessional. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they responded again by saying I was wrong. When I called to complain, I was told again, I was wrong and that I was never mistreated and that he did not call when I said he did. First they lack customer service skills, second they had my account and were paid on time 85 percent of the time on time, so their policies in reporting customers needs serious reconsideration. I could understand if I was say 60, 90 or 120 days, or didn't pay my bill at all, but this bank is sure to trash any customer at any chance they get. Forget "customer is always right" here, bank else where.
