I switched to Vonage Internet Phone Service from Packet 8 a few months ago. When I found that they were still debiting my account I called to see why. Vonage notified them of the switch, but they said unless I called them personally they would not accept this. They stated they had record of the number being ported to Vonage but it did not matter, they would not refund the money even though I did not receive service from them. Then to add insult to injury, they stated I would also be charged an additional $1.50 for the state 911 fee on my next months bank statement. Additionally, one of the reasons I switched, was because they were supposed to be 19.99 and said the rates increased shortly after signing up and charged 28.50 per month.
