I'm a single mother of one, and working hard to get by. I never miss work or turn down overtime. But on Nov. 21 st 2005 I bought a rubin sandwich from ARBY'S on my way home from work. I didn't take a lunch that day, I had know time to stop during working hours. And the next morning at 4 am I got alittle sick. I went to work and told my boss that I was alittle sick but that I could work. After all I can't afford to miss.
I drive from Dallas to Austin to get supplies for a big IT company in Dallas.
At 7:30 am I pullover for the first time to get sick. My boss calls me to do additional stops in Austin I tell him I would be running late , but that I would get the job done.
By 8:00 am, I'm on the phone, on the side of the road again getting sick and asking my sister to pray with me. At this point I'm getting scared I've never felt like this before.
After pulling over to throw-up and use the restroom in a trash can in my truck.
I call my boss. And tell him I'm calling a Ambulance. I call and they come for me . The first thing they ask is what did you eat. I didn't eat anything that day cause I wasn't feeling good, so I told them nothing. I get a shoot, and a prescribtion for medicine to treat a urinary tract infection.( caused by diahria). Plus my boss has to send two other people to come get me and my truck. My truck got towed of roadside, at the tune of 700.00 and after being released from the treatment of hospital because I didn't have insurance. I had to wait for coworkers to get me, I got home at 10:30 pm. And was deathly sick for 5 days. I didn't get to do anything for my daughter for Thanksgiving, but she was nursing ME.
I missed out on reg. and overtime. This also cause me to be short for Christmas. My daughter didn't get anything, because of auto drafts that come out of my bank account every month. I incurred bank fees. After suffering for 3 months ARBY'S rep. LEV. YOUNGBLOOD said they would pay for doctor to run test and treat me. The bills came to me. After 6,000.00 in lost wages, medical bills, ect. they offerd to pay 3,000.00 for ambulance, emergency, and the test only. I said know because they ruined my credit, and lost me wages, prescribtions, ect. So now I'm going to be sued by the people that helped me, unless I get attorney and take them to court. I will , once I get the time I'm working 50hrs a week now. But, I won't let ARBY'S shuck their responsibilties to there their consumer. So take heed all you ARBY'S fans this nightmare could be yours.
