I am writing you this letter because, I am in disbelief that the Sprint PCS is cheating citizens knowingly or with out. I traveled to Africa on December last year and stayed there for six months, before I left I put my Sprint cell phone on hold instead of terminating my service because I wanted to keep my cell phone number, in-order to do that Sprint PCS told me I will have to pay $5 for each month to hold my number, I agreed to that and went to Africa, by the way I have been a Sprint PCS customer for almost seven years.
When I got back from Africa in May 2007, I called Sprint to activate my on hold number, and to my surprise I was told that I have to pay $200 dollars and some changes, mind you I have to pay this amount of money for minutes I have not used, I was not even in the country. I tried to talk to some one in charge (supervisor) but it was difficult to get them understand, probably they are thinking every calls from the customer are excuses or lies. Finally I managed to convince the clerk and have me pay less than $60 dollars and my service was reinstated.
For the month of June and July I paid more than the payment I was supposed to pay that was $50, instead I was paying more than $100 dollars. Two months later around August, I was told by Sprint to pay the $200 dollars, the bill I refused to pay when I got back from Africa plus the balance due for the month of August. I was so furious, I thought the issue was closed and moved on. I complained about this but no body cared. I have never complained to Sprint PCS before my travel to Africa. I should have known better because this was the time I should have said to myself enough is enough but I did not.
Four months passed, and on mid September I got news that my sister is diagnosed with breast cancer and also Pregnant. My sister lives in Seattle, WA, I traveled there to support my sister and I am still there and I will be here till her chemo is completed. Having saying that on this critical time of my life and my family, I was told by Sprint again that my bill payment is more than $900 dollars, can you believe it more than $900, just for the month of October.
I could not believe my self that Sprint PCS is doing this to me. I asked why do I have to pay this much money; their answer was because I am in restricted area from my plan, but I know for fact my plan was not like that because I traveled many times inside the State. I asked them if they could verify some how my plan is changed after I got back from Africa, but this time they would not even consider to see if what I am complaining about is has any truth at all or check on what happened to my plan. They think I am trying not to pay the bill, but that is not true I wanted to pay the right amount of money and I have done that and paid my bills for seven years and never complained.
Finally sprint told me that the good plan I had for so long was not available anymore, the sprint computer would not accept my plan after I got back from Africa, so they gave me a plan with out me being notified or had me choose the plan I wanted and with out any signiture of mine. In These days of time, people are smarter when it comes to choosing cell phone plans, I would never go or choose from a good plan to a bad plan, no one in his/her right mind would choose such a plan. I told friends of mine about my situation back in Virginia, and they are experiencing problems with Sprint PCS too.
If some of you out there are having similar problems with Sprint, then we should let our voice heard in every way possible. |
