My name is Alison Solar, and I am a woman business owner in Nassau county. Due to unfortunate circumstances with a client whom is out of control, I am in a situation with consumer affairs. I protested their findings and was never allowed to have a hearing.
After several run-ins with this division of consumer affairs, it is clear that there is bias on their behalf, and I along with several other upstanding businesses have been unjustly persecuted with consumer affairs "supervisor" =one person being both judge and jury. After protesting several of their findings and requesting a hearing, I am now charged with failure to comply with their findings. There was never a hearing, my case was never heard, paperwork was ignored, contracts were improperly reviewed, along with many other violations of my rights as an American citizen and business owner. What happened to innocence before guilty?!!!
This is an unjust use of the "supervisors" authority. No judge =no jury of my peers, only unfound allegations of one person and "investigation" by unqualified people.
My lawyer is the Nassau/ Suffolk attorney for Nari (national association of remodels industry, and he has several clients where he feels have been unjustly prosecuted by Nassau county consumer affairs. These are licenses to do business, to earn a honest living.
These women at consumer affairs are breaching their use of power, showing clear bias towards the consumer and against the businesses. They are quick to publish names and persecute, however how can we as a people protest against the division of consumer affairs practices. Where can we go to complain?
Something needs to be done about this unjustness. There are men and women dying in the middle east to protect our right as a democracy. Consumer affairs is acting as a tyrant. And should not be tolerated in today’s times.
Don't I have the right to defend myself? Especially in a democratic society?
I am not alone in this fight. The reason more people don't fight this unjust behavior is because it costs money, and I have spent thousands of dollars on lawyers and stupid fines to defend myself that it is ridiculous. .
I want consumer affairs put on trial...I want them to defend their actions. Why does Suffolk county operate more fairly and not Nassau county?
Judge and jury by 2 people? How can this be possible in America?
we should have a division that lets us make complaints against consumers that don't pay their bills or who have liens on their house because they don't pay the honest contractors just trying to put food on our tables. Who will protect us against those people? How do we complain against the people who sue over and over again...shouldn't we "publish " their names the way they publish the contractors/businesses names?
As an American citizen, minority business owner I am taking severe action against their office and reaching out to the American public for justice.
