Car Mart sold a vehicle "As Is" to us and I completely understand what's classified as "As Is", but the problems we had with this car were suppose to be issues handled before the dealership sells the vehicle. This car has now been in three different repair shops within two months of purchasing the vehicle, two of those times in one month. Carroll's work with CarMart in repairing the vehicles. The manager at Carroll's called the manager at Car Mart (Jackie Johnson) and stated he doesn't want to repair the car because he thinks we're not going to keep it!!! That is not his place to determine whether or not we're keeping it and if we're paying out of OUR pockets, it doesn't matter whether he wants to fix it or not. We didn't agree at the time to the repairs because they wanted to overcharge us. They charged $260 to repair the window for a part that only cost about $45. The work that was needed under the hood (which was suppose to be fixed prior to the dealership selling the vehicle) would take $60 an hour to FIND the problem and they won't work more than 3 hours. That's not including what it would cost to pay for the damages under the hood, I wanted to know what would happen if they didn't find it. No answer. The day AFTER we got the car back from the shop, all of a sudden certain lights would not work. I work late at night and need for all of my lights to be visible to prevent any kind of interaction with the police and for my safety as well. There were no problems before we took it to the shop so our question was why was is the car acting worse since we've taken it to Carroll's? They wouldn't provide any documentation stating that they provided SOME kind of work to the vehicle. The dealership covers only a few (VERY few) items on the car. They claimed that since we didn't pay for it we don't need any papers showing they serviced the vehicle. The manager at the shop and at Car Mart(Jackie Johnson) are very rude and don't know how to run a business correctly. The sad part is, we later found out that both of these companies have done this to SEVERAL residents in this town. I MIGHT understand this situation a little better if we were out in a large city, but in this small town in the south, whatever happened to southern hospitality?
P.S. I'm not asking for them to repair my car for free nor am I trying to get over on them, it's just the way they handle business is very inappropriate. |
