I found the perfect wallpaper at a good price at USA Wallpaper in Sandusky, OH. I had been searching for the pattern for a long time, and I was excited to discover that it was available at this retailer via the web. I placed the order, received a confirmation number via email, and waited with great anticipation. Two weeks went by, and I still did not have any wallpaper. I called the company directly and inquired about the status. They said that the product was on backorder and should ship out in about 2 additional weeks. 3 weeks went by, and I still didn't have any wallpaper. In the meantime, I had received my credit card statement, and I had been charged for the wallpaper, so I figured that it should be arriving soon. I called the company again, and inquired. The customer service representative said that the wallpaper was on indefinite backorder. She couldn't even begin to estimate when I might be receiving it. She said that the indefinite backorder was a result of the manufacturer needing to produce it, and that any other company that I would call who didn't have it in stock would result in the same wait. I explained that I didn't think it was acceptable for them to bill for a product that hadn't even been produced - especially since it wasn't a custom order. She said that they don't control billing, the manufacturer of the wallpaper did. When I asked for a name and number of someone to call to get refunded until my order was filled, she said she couldn't do that. So, I'm stuck with having paid for a product that wasn't received, and no idea when this product would be shipped. I did attempt to contact the company that I thought was the manufacturer, but they replied to my inquiry that they had sold that part of their business. At least I tried another route...but I shoudn't have had to.
I ended up cancelling my order, and getting the paper from Sherwin Williams at a matched price + an additional reduction in 3 days. I am still fighting with this company to get my $ refunded that they charged. I am past the point of diputing with the credit card company since it's been almost 3 months. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY - THE HEADACHE OF POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NOT WORTH IT!!!! |
