i went to the sequioa hospt a few times and received bills from the doc saying i owe them additional money then what the insurance will pay. i wrote to both doc and one doc accepted pay in full by ins. the 2nd doc dr. gemma guillermo chose to take acct to collections which has reported to the 3 credit bureaus that i'm deliquent in paying acct. i dispute the bill because i had a contract with aetna/magellan for 240.00 per hospital admission and that includes blood/urine/drug test, psyc meds, non-psyc meds, psyc nurses, bed, food, internal medicine doc, etc...
i found out through disputing this claim that both doctors, only two that are on staff at sequioa hosp psyc ward are not contracted with aetna/magellan. but sequioa hospt and pscy ward accept aetna/magellan insurance.
if i would have known that the doctor treating me was not on the insurance as a provider, i would have gone elsewhere.
i think it is unfair business practices to have available two doctors who do not have a contract with ainsurance company yet they accept the patient with that insurance and the insurance covers everything but the full service price of the doctors fee. aetna/magellan pay the doctors a lowerrate since they do not have a contract with them.
ms. winer from the better business bureau sent me a note saying the insurance rarely covers everything but i told her my contract is very specific. since dates 2001 through 2006 i do not have my insurance booklet or copy of my insurance card.
aetna/magellan have been giving me a hard time. 1- couldnot find me in their computer system 2- couldn't give mea copy of my itemized claims, so that i can see what was charged, paid, unpaid etc. they said they do not give this info to the patient directly. |
