BAIT AND SWITCH ALERT!
AND RUDE, BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. DON'T LET THE COMMERCIALS FOOL YOU! I have to tell you all how disappointed I am! And angry. I went to Carlsons after seeing their "friendly, good guy" ads. I was honestly excited to find a small, non-chain store, even willing to pay a little more to support a small business. And to get that personable customer service. Here's the sad scoop: I bought a special, last of its kind, range, that was posted on their website. I talked to steven (the guy from the commercials) on the phone about it, and then went in. He said it worked fine, and they would check everything out before delivering it - in a few weeks. He also added that if anything did go wrong, he would do right by us. His words. We felt very good about buying. So good, that a few days later we went in again and bought a refrig. Well, weeks went by and nothing. We finally called one morning, and the guy we talked to looked into it and said, oh it doesn't work. (Yet no one called to tell us). I asked that since they sold me something they couldn't deliver, iId expect something comparable in its place. No way. But, oh, we can sell you something else. I then asked for steve. They said he'd call back. He didn't - and when we called back at the end of the day, they said, oh he went on vacation for a week! He never called back after his vacation. Anyway, long story short, when we went in to the store, we were hoping for at least an apology or an attempt on their part to make up for posting on their site and selling something they couldn't deliver, and at most that customer service we expected from this store. Steve was very arrogent, and unapologizing and basically said he would do nothing to help. He said he looked for the part. I asked for a list of where he looked, so that maybe we could look other places. ...he could not name one place he had looked for the part. He also said, "I never said I'd do right by you. I don't use those words." He added, "I'm not going to do anything for you. I need to make money." My mom, who was with us, asked a question, and he told her very rudely, "you keep out of it." I had to tell him that he cannot speak to my mom like that. I can't tell you how still upset I am. This is the short version, but you get the drift. This store is not interested in customer service. And, I'm going to ask the better business beareau about posting "appealing" items that they then cannot sell. The only thing I could do was post this and hope others are aware. As a consumer, and a person, you would do better going somewhere else. The only way we can affect businesses is with our business. Thanks for listening. 04/19/2008
